SUMMER EXPERIENCE OPPORTUNITY AT SOFTBALLONTARIO!
NORTH YORK, ONTARIO-Softball Ontario is happy to announce our participation in the SummerExperience Program 2008. Thanks to a grant from the Ontario Ministry ofHealth Promotion, we are able to offer the opportunity to work as theParticipation Program Assistant at the Softball Ontario office in NorthYork.
The ParticipationProgram Assistant will provide support to a variety of organizationalinitiatives related to the Participation Program, as well as additional dutiesrelated to the general administration of Softball Ontario. Duties mayinclude assisting with the administration of the Try Softball program,attending community events with the Community Fun Team, developingcommunications and marketing materials, responding to inquiries from thepublic regarding various initiatives, and general office work.
Applicants must havestrong communication, organization and computer skills (including MicrosoftExcel and Word). Experience working with volunteers is an asset. The position is ideal for students registered in Sports Administration, SportManagement, and Recreation & Leisure Studies Programs. Previousinvolvement with the game of softball as a player or as a volunteer is anasset.
Those interested inapplying for this seven (7) week position with Softball Ontario must bebetween the ages of 15 and 24, be an Ontario resident and be eligible to workin Canada. The successful candidate will be required to have a policerecords check as part of the qualifications required for the position.
The Summer ExperienceProgram 2008 allows Ontario youth to gain valuable work experience andcontinue to expand their knowledge and learning throughout the summer. The Program is based on a 35-hour workweek and runs for seven (7) weeks; thewage rate is $8.75/hr for youth employed in the Summer ExperienceProgram.
