DOG HOUSE NORTH STARS REPEAT AS LEAGUE CHAMPIONS
It was apparent from the opening frame that the veteran North Stars were not about to let the series get to a fifth and deciding game. Randy Dennis who's been struggling at times during the first three games put his best foot forward on Monday night in Azilda. Working on a 5-1 lead that his teammates gave him after three innings , he only gave up two more runs the rest of the way as the North Stars captured their fourth league championship in the last four years with a 8-3 victory over the Garson Hounds. Outfielder Troy Chatwell led the way for the winners with a 3 for 4 performance at the plate (one double) with teammate Moe Coutu hitting 3 for 5 (one double) .Todd Parsons hit 2 for 2 (two walks and a two run homer) in a losing cause for the Hounds. Randy Dennis (6-1) went all the way for the North Stars giving up 3 runs on 9 hits while fanning 7 Hounds players. Gary Lamothe (3-3) was the loser giving up 8 runs on 16 hits and striking out 4 North Stars . Jean Gilles Larocque , catcher for the North Stars only went 0 for 1 with three walks but finish the series with an impressive 9 for 11 or 818 batting average and without a doubt the championship finals MVP. All that is left now is the All-Stars Classic , 3rd edition this coming Saturday September the 13th when the Rick McDonald Memorial Fastball League players take on the North Shore All-Stars.
