SERGEANT RICK McDONALD [ 1961-1999]
Who was he? He was police officer , he was a husband , he was a son and he was our friend .In trying to defend us , to help us and to protect us, he was killed in the line of duty some ten years ago at the young age of 38 .He left us to early. Not only was he a police officer, a good son and a good husband but a very good fastball player. In his honor we named our league the Rick McDonald Memorial Fastball League . Every year we have a tournament in his name during the month of June .A good part of the money collected there goes for good causes that Rick always supported such as beautifying the park in Azilda that also carries his name , we also buy bicycles for under privileged kids and we send children with difficult illnesses and their families on trips to Disneyland. We have not forgotten you Rick and we will never forget you.
Please bow your heads now as Carrie plays a special song on her bagpipes and we remember our friend Rick.
Thank you
