Softball Canada Junior Women's National Team Selection Camp
(Ottawa, ON) - Softball Canada has invited 27 of Canada's brightest future female Softball players to attend a selection camp from August 13th to 16th in Brampton, ON for the selection of the 2006 Junior Women's National Team.
The selection camp will be used to determine the 2006 Junior Women's National Team that will participate in the Pan Am Championships in Puerto Rico from November 8th to the 18th, a qualifier for the 2007 ISF World Championships (TBD).
Following the regional evaluation camps in Port Perry, ON and Richmond, BC, the following athletes have been invited to the selection camp in August:

"My staff and I are very excited with the talent we have evaluated at the two Regional camps so far" stated Mark Sanderson, Head Coach of the Junior Women's National Team. "In preparation for our final selection camp we are now scouting various tournaments throughout the country to fill the final spots that are available. We will be looking at athletes identified at the Regional camps, as well as athletes that could not attend. We will be at Canada Cup, Provincial Championships, and the Midget Nationals. We intend to select a total of 34 to 38 athletes to invite to the final selection camp."
Softball Canada is the National Sport Governing Body for the development and regulation of softball in Canada. Its broad objectives are to promote, encourage and develop mass participation and international excellence in softball.
