THE PLAYOFFS ARE ON THE HORIZON
There are only two weeks or 11 regular season games left before the Rick McDonald Memorial Fastball League playoffs get underway . Two of the league's trophies have already been decided .The Sudbury North Stars have clinched first place ,the Commissioner's Cup and a bye into the second round semi finals . John Ainslie of the North Stars is this year's top pitcher (first time in his career ) . The rest of the trophies are still all up for grabs and will be decided before the start of the league quarter finals . All interested teams for the 5th Annual Northern coming up from the 20th to the 22nd of August are reminded to check the flyer on Al's Fastball News 1 from July 2010 . Attached you will find the up dated league standings (teams, hitters, pitchers and category leaders) . The 5th annual All-Star Extravaganza pitting the Rick McDonald Memorial Fastball All-Stars against the North Shore All-Stars is set for Saturday September the 18th in Sagamok starting at 1 PM with the skills competition .
IT’S A BATTLE FOR THE BATTING CROWN
There are just 7 regular season games left before the playoffs get underway . The bottom three teams will battle for position and five players will decide who is the batting champion .We are only 11 days away from the deadline for entry into the 5th Annual Northern Ontario Fastball Championship .Check the Al's Fastball News 1 July edition for the tournament flyer and information.
