Bombers Finish 3rd out of 40 Teams at NAFA A-Major World Series
Des Moines, IA – The New York Bombers survived an early loss to place 3rd in the 2010 NAFA A-Major World Series. The Bombers got off to a 2-0 start at the 40 team event with wins over Home Federal and the Colorado Rage. But a 6-4 loss to the Crow Bar team from South Dakota was a wakeup call for the Bombers.
After the loss to Crow Bar the Bomber team regrouped to win 4 consecutive games by a combined score of 42-12. Included in those games were to 2-run wins over a tough Home Federal team and a scrappy Iowa Cocks team. The Bomber’s win run ended though against the eventual tournament champion El Paso Steel and their star pitcher Antonio Mancha by the score of 9-5. The Bombers ended the tournament with a 6-2 overall record.
