Cobourg FORCE Legends Fastball Club Crowned ISC World - Legends Champion
The Cobourg FORCE Legends fastball club captured the inaugural International Softball Congress (ISC) World - Legends tournament this past week in Midland, Michigan. On their way to the championship title the Cobourg FORCE went 6-0, an undefeated record against formable teams from the United States. The Cobourg FORCE were the only team from Canada who participated in the ISC event and are founded from Cobourg, Ontario - Canada.
The final game was a pitching duel between Darren Zack of the FORCE and Lee Noel of the Berkenpass Development team from Byron Center, Michigan. The key blow of the game with the FORCE down 1-0 in the bottom of the 6th inning was the RBI single by Sammy Forbes to tie the game. In the bottom of the 7th with the scored notched at 1-1 the FORCE's leadoff hitter Peter McCormack hit a triple over the left fielders head as the fielder was playing slightly in for the slap hitter McCormack. Now with McCormack on third with none out, Doug Willoughby hit a sharp single up the middle for the championship win and the celebration began.
