(Officials Development Committee) are pleased to announce that

Mr. Wayne Brown

Will bejoining us at the 2007 Blue Convention as our keynote speaker.
Well known and respected in umpiring circles across Canada and indeed aroundthe world, Mr. Brown will add to the prestige and recognition of the BlueConvention, an event which he himself initiated 10 years ago.
Here are some highlights from Mr. Brown's illustrious career:
· has been involved in softball for close to 40 years in various roles -administrator, umpire, instructor, organizer, and technician
· has been a certified Level 5 ISF (International Softball Federation) umpiresince 1978
· umpired at 6 Canadian championships as well as 2 International championships
· served as Softball Canada Deputy Umpire-in-Chief from 1986 to 1994
· served as Softball Canada Umpire-in-Chief from 1994 to 2004 during which timehe managed the assignment of Canadian umpires to all Canadian and Internationalchampionships, including the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta
· as ISF Umpire-in-Chief for the North Americas in 1995, Mr. Brown wasresponsible for 90,000 officials in Canada and the United States
· organized the first Blue Convention for Softball Canada officials in 1997
· coach of the St. Mary's Braves, the senior men's fastball team which won abronze medal in 1993 and a gold medal in 1995 at the North American IndigenousGames
· was president of the organizing committee for the New Brunswick IndigenousSummer Games in 1983 and 1987
· was named Umpire of the Year by Sports New Brunswick in 1995
