THE SUDBURY NORTH STARS REMAIN UNDEFEATED
The Sudbury North Stars (league defending champions of 2010 ) ran its record to 3 and 0 on Monday night in Azilda at the Rick McDonald Memorial Park with a 7-2 victory over the now 1 and 2 Pickerel River Cardinals . Once again John Ainslie (3-0) went the distance for his third victory of the 2011 campaign scattering three hits , striking out 8 batters and issuing but one single base on balls . Percy Tobobungun (0-1) took the loss but was relieved in the third frame by Jonathan Contin (1-1) .Both pitchers combined to give up 10 hits while fanning 5 batters and issuing 3 base on balls . John Ainslie helped his own cause for the North Stars going 2 for 3 (both singles) while Percy Tobobundun went a perfect 3 for 3 (double) in a losing cause for the Cardinals .
In the nightcap , the Swicky Hounds of Garson finally hit the win column for the first time this year with a hard fought high scoring 12-10 victory over the Falcons . New comer Scott Main (1-0) started for the Swicky Hounds in collecting the mound victory but gave way to veteran Gary “GNUâ€Â Lamothe in the final frame . Both pitchers combined to give up 10 runs (9 earned) while striking out 10 batters and issuing 5 base on balls . Danny Nootchtai (0-0) started gave way to Troy Nlootchtai in the fourth (1-1) who took the loss . Both pitchers combined to give up 12 runs (eleven earned) while striking out 5 batters and issuing 5 base on balls . New addition Bobby Decosse led the way for the winners hitting 3 for 4 while Justin Nootchtai went 2 for 4 in a losing cause for the Falcons .
Play resumes Wednesday night in Whitefish when the Swicky Hounds of Garson take on the North Stars of Sudbury at 7 PM which will be followed by the nightcap under the lights at 9 PM between the Falcons of Whitefish Lake First Nation and the Cardinals of Pickerel River .
Team reps will also be voting on two revised copies to the original schedule ..
