SWICK HOUNDS OF GARSON PUT OUT THE NORTH STARS
For the second time in a week , the Swick Hounds of Garson have defeated the previously undefeated Sudbury North Stars .This time they held them scoreless for six innings and held on for a 5-2 victory . The Hounds are now undefeated in four games going 3-0-1 and moved them within 3 points of second place . It has become very evident that the return of veteran catcher Todd Parsons after a year’s absence has had a great influence on the whole team with him showing that great leadership which has been lacking . After an absence of at least a month due to a pull hamstring injury , veteran Gary “GNUâ€Â Lamothe(1-6) returned to the mound on Monday night in Azilda and picked his first win of the season ..Lamothe scattered 7 hits , struck out 6 batters and issued but 1 single base on balls . For his sake , John Ainslie , suffered his second loss in three games giving up 7 hits , fanning 7 batters and issuing 2 base on balls . Gary Lamothe helped his own cause going 2 for 3 at the plate in leading his troops with teammates Corey Farmer (triple) Al Guenette , Bryan Welsh and Shayne Nene all hitting 1 for 2 while Ben Bast went 1 for 2 in a losing cause for the North Stars . Play resumes on Wednesday night in Whitefish Lake when the host Whitefish Lake First Nation Falcons take on the Pickerel River Cardinals ..
Keep fit ! Enjoy the rest of your week ! Drink plenty of fluids and keep out of the sun during this hot humid heat wave ! See you on the fastball diamonds!
