Niagara Falls playoffs
August 11, 2011
Niagara Falls, ON
Hi Al
The semi finals of the Niagara Falls Men's League began last night with 2 seed Niagara Fury vs 3 seed Hooligans.
The Fury would eventually prevail 5-4 behind the pitching of Scott Wagar. Rich Vassos pitched well but takes the loss. Phil John had a two run homerun early and the Fury were ahead by three going into the seventh when Hooligans lead off hitter Casey Toews hit a two run homerun to make things interesting. Wagar would not surrender another run as the Fury hangs on. The other series, 1 seed Niagara Snappers vs 4 seed Tazco has not yet begun. The league will not run playoff games next week as many players will be at the ISC's.
