Game one of the Niagara Falls best of 3 finals was played last night with the Niagara Snappers coming back to defeat the Niagara Fury 6-5.
Scott Wagar gets the ball for the Fury, Matty Lyons for the Snappers. The Fury strike in the T1 Mark Korten singles to score Adam Dearborn and a Wagar double scores Korten. Leading 2-0 the SNappers would respond with 2 in the B1 as Peter Dobbin and Perry Bartley each bunt their way on, Dobbin would score on a put out and Lyons cashes Bartley later in the inning with a double.
The Fury would put 3 more on the board thanks to a Ray Carr HR in the third and a Carr 2 run triple in the 5th scoring Wagar and Tommy Watkinson who singled. In the B5 the Snappers start their comeback. Trevor Falk singles home Dobbin with two outs and Mike Bateman homers to plate Falk in front of him and tie the score 5-5. In the B6 GHFL MVP Kevin Newhouse hits a HR for the 6-5 lead and win. Perry Bartley gets the win relieving Lyons.
Game 2 goes Monday night 7:30 pm Ker Park, game 3 if necessary will be Wednesday night.
