Motor City Gets Big Wins over #16 and #4 at Boys of Summer, Finishes 2-1
The Motor City Shamrocks picked up big wins over the 16th ranked Pete's Blues and 4th ranked Minnesota Angels before taking a loss to 8th ranked Circle Tap. In the first game of the day, Tyler Kelly got the 1-0 victory over Pete's by scattering 4 hits and going the distance. Sean Kelly got the victory over Minnesota after Jon Powers drew a two out walk and Tyler Dudley and Tyler Kelly hit back-to-back home runs in the 5th to make it a 3-1 advantage for the Shamrocks. Kelly shut down a 6th inning threat from the Angels and went 1-2-3 in the 7th to preserve the 3-2 victory. In the third game of the day Circle Tap got four runs in the 3rd inning and pulled away to an 8-1 victory. A three way tie at the top of the bracket resulted in the runs allowed tie breaker moving Circle Tap and Minnesota on to the playoffs. Motor City plays next at the Pete Schwab Memorial Invitational in Frankenmuth, MI, July 13-15.
