SOFTBALL ONTARIO SEEKS HOST FOR EXCITING NEW U10 (MITE) PILOT EVENTS
Softball Ontario, in partnership with the
Provincial Women's Softball Association (
PWSA),
Ontario Amateur Softball Association (
OASA), and
Ontario Rural Softball Association (
ORSA), is seeking hosts to pilot the new Softball Canada Minor Softball Rules at tournaments across the province!
Who Can Host?
- A Host must be a member of one of Softball Ontario's Fast Pitch Member Associations (PWSA, OASA, or ORSA)
Terms & Conditions for Hosts:
- Hosts must complete an online bid form
- The Pilot is not intended to be a revenue making event
- Fees charged to participants are subject to approval from the Softball Ontario Mite (U10) Competition Review Committee
- Fees charged by host should only cover park, umpires, awards, insurance, etc.
- Hosts must not charge a gate fee
- The Host must provide volunteers for Fun Zone events
- Hosts must accept all terms and conditions
In addition to piloting the new Softball Canada Minor Softball Rules, Hosts will also help to pilot our new Tournament FUN ZONE to add excitement to the event. Hosts will receive the following resources, equipment and prizes for the FUN ZONE:
- FUN ZONE Volunteer Manual
- Inflatable Catcher
- Crazy Face Inflatable Softball
- Play Doh Mascot Competition Materials
- Banner
- Prizes (1 / player)
- and more!
 In addition to the FUN ZONE package, selected Hosts will be provided with:
- 1 Dozen Indoor Balls
- A free 12" x 18" Laminated Schedule Board
- A detailed Event Host Handbook
- Coach Rule Packages for each team
- Parent Rule Packages
- Alternative Score Cards
The Pilot Events can be held for any level - House League, Select, Rep, or Open and can be Male, Female or Co-Ed - all levels are encouraged to apply.Â
Qualifying tournaments must be at the Mite (U10) level, and
must be willing to adopt the rules as provided by Softball Ontario. Softball Ontario representatives will be on-site to survey participants, coaches, umpires and spectators about the new rules. A copy of the rules being piloted is available here:
