SUNDAY

Oshawa 11-4 over Napanee

Up next, Parry Island and Hill United on main diamond and yes, it is streamed!

Parry Island were almost holding their own, 5-1 going into the 4th but Hill United added a 3-run home run in the 4th so going to T5 with an 8-1 lead by Hill. 11:40am

 Game over, mercy rule. Hill United wins over Parry Island 8-1. All in all, Pary Island held their own, playing with a very short bench and a lot of pick ups. Thanks for coming guys!

 

12:30 game started a few minutes early, Scarborough Force vs Simcoe Lightening

Ted Metcalfe on the dish and George Findlay on 1b for the Blue Crew

Simcoe leading 2-0 T2 - Andy Skelton pitching for Force - 12:46pm

Greg Garrity is pitching for Simcoe.

21C, bright and sunny, slight breeze, perfect day for a fastball game. Good sized crowd in attendance.

B2 Brownhill triple drives in first Force run of the game. now 2-1 game for Simcoe. 1:09pm

Buttar went down swinging with runners on the corners to end the3rd. Still 2-1 for Simcoe.

Sargon single home run over the lf fence makes it 3-1 for Simcoe in what was mainly a pitcher's duel. 1:30pm

 Lots of player changes including 00 Donnie Scott coming into the game. 1:38pm - 5th inning still 3-1 for Simcone over Force.

T7 and Don Scott pitching to Simcoe. Still 3-1 for Simcoe over Force. 2:03pm A great game to watch.

 B7 Andrew Scott leads off, first pitch, hit down the middle, single. Dambrosio, pop to ss, one out. Erin Fraser, with runner on 1b, strikes out looking, two down. Jake Taylor, passed ball, runner on 2b, strikes out!

3-1 win for Simcoe over Force. Garrity went the distance. 2:13pm

 

On the back diamond will be Hill United and Napanee Express - and yes, its streamed!

Hill are up 3-0 - T2 - 2:45pm 

score seems to be 8-2 for Hill United in 4th inning. 3:30pm

 

 Coming up next at 2:30pm on Diamond 1 will be Simcoe Lightening vs Kitchener Cubs

Peter Kluzscynski on the dish, Mike Morrisey and Ted Metcalfe on the bases for the Blue Crew.

Ryan French will pitch for Cubs.  Garrity gets the ball again for Simcoe.

2nd inning Cubs got two runs to add to the one they had in the first and Garrity had a long discussion with Mr Kluzscynski about his strike zone and decided to move positions and Kyle Linton came in to pitch for Simcoe. 3-0 in the third, make that 4-0 now in B3. 3:36pm

 4-0 b4 for Cubs - 3:34pm

 Cubs win 6-0 in 5 innings. 3:53pm

 Mellon out on the diamond for his coaching duties wearing a giant bubble gum blown up on his hat, without his knowledge. Was there for a full inning.

Nice double play turned by Hill United 1 to 6 to 3. 2 out T4 - 1-1 tie.

T5 - 5:38pm - super afternoon in the park, bright sun but nice temps, 22c.

Brad Thompson, solo home run to make it 2-2 tie. 5:42pm

 B6 Jason Hill 2 run home run bringing in Ellsworth. Followed by Mark Johnson.

5-3 for Hill United - 6pm

 T7 - 5-3 lead for Hill United - 6:05pm

Canadian Classics leading 3-1 T 7 and I hear Sammy is getting all the hits.

Final, Classics 3-1 over Oshawa.

9:59am Saturday, a bit overcast in the park this morning but very comfortable for the ball players.

Just handed a couple of Game Summary Sheets so will be typing those up.

If there is a plumber in or near Legion Fields, please come to the tower asap, one of the blue did something obscene in our  only washroom.

Finally a score from d2, Simcoe and Kitchener tied up 0-0 in 8th inning 

Simcoe won in extra innings. I assume 1-0, until I see the score sheet.

 Coubourg Force up 1-0 after first half inning. 12:35pm

 Oshawa smacking the ball around pretty good. Turned a single into a triple. A single drives in the runner, Tie game. T1 - 12:40pm

Cobourg leading Oshawa 4-1 in the 3rd inning. 1:08pm

Cobourg jumps to a 9-1 lead, home run in 4th. 1:21pm

T5 and Cobourg Force increase their lead to 10-1 over Oshawa. 1:41pm

 Andy Skelton, deep rf home run, 2 run home run puts Force up 2-0 in their half of the first. 2:36pm

 Napanee takes a 14-0 lead on a 2 run home run in 4th inning. 9:18pm

FRIDAY EVENING:

7PM Friday evening and we have a nice little crowd in the park, especially on D1 with the Cobourg Force playing Team Ontario.

The youngsters were leading the Force 3-0 after one full inning and  are up 4-1 in the 3rd inning. 7:37pm

5th inning and the Force is catching up, now 4-3 for Team Ontario. 8:17pm

T6 and Team Ontario hold their lead at 4=3 over Force.

to B6 and Force stranded one so score still 4-3 - 8:32pm

B6 and Team ON score one, strand 2, now lead Force 5-3 to T7  - 8:40pm

5-3 Final for Team Ontario over Cobourg Force.

Great game to watch.

 

 The game on D2 is over and its right behind me but could not hear the announcer on that side of the tower. Will post it soon as I can get it.  8:57pm

Great to be back in the ballyard.  And the rain held off! Cobourg is a great facility and the tower we are working in is one of the better ones i have seen. Steve Bedard and his crew have done a great job of organizing this tournament.
