5 More Legends To Be Honoured In Kitchener
Â
Â
The 2013 Legends of Fastball Classic will turn back the pages one more time as it honours 5 more players who have distinguished themselves through a lifetime of fastball excellence. This year’s class of inductees includes two pitchers, 2 power hitting outfielders and one of the slickest shortstops of his era. The tradition of honouring yesterday’s heroes started with the very first Legends tournament held in Woodstock in 2004. Since then some of the greatest players, coaches, executives and characters of the game have been recognized. The 5 being remembered this year will bring the 10 year total to 37 who have had their names engraved on the Legends plaque.
Â
The Class of 2013 includes : Marty Myska, Mike Pedersen, Paul Clemens, Bill Simpson and perhaps the best all-around player to ever come out of Ontario, Brad Underwood.
Â
All of the players being honoured this year will be highlighted in John Thompson’s Diamond Dirt program available at the park, and later on Al’s Fastball News.
Â
The always emotional and classy Legends ceremony will be held Saturday June 22, Â 1:00 p.m. at Peter Hallman Ball Yard, Hansen Avenue and Lennox Lewis Way, in Kitchener.
