The NY Swashbucklers went 6-0 over the weekend to capture the Rick Holley Invitational in Washington, DC. Swash swept through the round robin portion of the tournament with 3-0, 9-0 and 12-0 victories over the Phillies, DC Warriors, and Red Stripe to earn the # 1 seed. It was much of the same on Sunday with Swash picking up an 8-1 quarterfinal win, a 5-0 semifinal victory, and a 4-0 win in the championship over the Bedford Rays. Josh Johnson and Jerlin Rutt split mound duties all weekend, yielding only 11 hits and 1 run in 6 games. The offense was led by Steve Mullady (12-19), Mike Hoadley, Johnson, Rutt and Zimmerman, who all had big weekends at the plate.
