Durham College fastball heading to nationals
LONDON, Ont. - The Durham College women’s fastball team is heading to London this weekend to take part in the Canadian Collegiate Softball Association National Championship hosted by Western University.
This will be the Lords fourth straight appearance at the national championship. The Lords best result at nationals was last season, when the team earned a silver medal after falling to Western in the national championship game. Prior to last season, the Lords earned back-to-back bronze medals and a fifth place finish.
The top eight college and university teams from across the country will compete for the national title. Durham will be in pool A which includes Western University, the University of Calgary and the University of Guelph. Pool B includes the University of Waterloo, Humber College, the University of Ottawa and St. Clair College.
The championship will begin on Saturday, October 12 at 10 a.m. when the Lords will take on the Calgary Dinos.
