August 26, 2006
North Bay, ON
North Bay, Ontario
The 20th Annual World Senior Men's Fastball Tournament is shaping up to be the best ever.
The tournament takes place over the Labour Day long weekend in beautiful North Bay.
As always the tournament will feature 32 teams with several on the waiting list to get in.
The local North Bay League teams kick things off on Thursday Aug 31st. with the tournament
swinging into full gear on Friday Sep. 1st running through to Sunday Sep. 3rd.
All teams are guaranteed 4 games, 3 round robin games then sudden death single elimination.
The Durham Oland Exports from Nova Scotia are making their 2nd journey to the tournament
and were hoping to have the services of pitcher Rich Hoppe. Rich Hoppe is the feature pitcher
for Eddie Feigner's King and His Court but scheduling conflicts prevent Rich from attending.
Team contact Bob Hale was the first "Fantasy Player" to ever play for the King & His Court.
Darren Zack is confirmed for this tournament, not just a rumour, he has confirmed with the tournament
organizers and to me personally that he will be attending with the Soo Tree Experts.
The "AA" defending champions are the Cold Springs Cats and North Bay Legion are the defending
"A" champions.
This year's "Honourary Chairman" is Max Valyear and the "Unsung Hero" is Kevin Miller.
The complete preliminary schedule is posted on the Ontario Masters Fastball web site
