The South Perth Men’s Fastball League commenced its 46th season this past week with the Shakespeare Falcons defeating the Kitchener Outlaws 5-1.

The Falcons are back to defend their 2013 League Championship against eight other teams.  The Wellington Sox, Sebringville Sting, Mitchell Mets, Kitchener Cubs, Kitchener Outlaws, Elmira Erb Electric Expos, AW Millwright Chiefs, and newcomers Ponsonby Sting.

The S.P.M.F.L is also affiliated with a Junior Division this year. The goal is to use the Junior players in league play and play some exhibition games too. These teams include Stratford/Sebringville, Tavistock, New Dundee, Tavistock Midgets, Milverton, St. Mary’s, Innerkip, and Embro.

The teams will play a home and away schedule between all teams, with the final League Playoff Tournament being held in Mitchell, Ontario on September 5-7th.

On Thursday June 19th, the small village of Shakepeare will play host to the Argentina Men’s National Team.  Argentina will play the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. followed by an All-Star team from the S.P.M.F.L.  It will be a great night for the local community and fast-ball fans.

Fans can follow our league through our website.
