NO DECISION BETWEEN THE PANTHERS AND THE HOUNDS

                             The Panthers and the Garson Hounds played to a 3-3 draw Monday night in Azilda at the Rick McDonald Memorial Sports Complex .. Because of the in climate weather , the umpires called the game after five innings . Veteran Pat Brennan started for the Hounds giving up but one hit , no runs scored and three strike outs in his four innings of work ..John Ainslie started the fifth with Matt Behm taking over after one out ..All three runs were charged to Ainslie (two were unearned ). Gary “GN†Lamothe went the distance giving up three runs (1 unearned ) and fanning five batters .. Brad Matheson went 1 for 2 (run) . Ed Brennan and Jeffrey Welsh went 1 for 2 for the Hounds . he nine o’clock game between the North Stars and the Dog House ..
                                            Important ceremony and fastball tournaments are coming up . Next Monday June the 9th , the league will honoring and celebrating the passing of our long time friend and super fan Lucien “Papalu†Dignard who left us this past November the 7th at the young age of 86 .At approximately 9pm between the first game and the second , all four teams will be paraded onto the field by the Lockerby Legion Color Guard . Then a few players will ask to speak a few words in his memory . Then the two sons Mitch and Marc will spread his ashes on the diamond as per request by Papalu before he passed away during this time Amazing Grace will be sung . Following the ceremony a photo of Papalu signed by all the players will be presented to the two sons .We hope many people , former players will attend to help us celebrate the wonderful life of Papalu .
                                               Two major fastball tournament are coming to Greater Sudbury and especially to Azilda at The Rick McDonald Memorial Sports Complex . The first one will be held on July 26th and 27th .It will be the Northern Brad Rienguette Fastball Tournament . The next one just awarded to Sudbury will be the 27th annual World’s Oldtimers Fastball Tournament .Further details on both these tournaments in the next few days .
                                                Next league action is this coming Thursday June the 5th at the Lorne Brady Memorial Park in Garson when the Panthers (2-1-1) take on the  first place North Stars (3-0-0) at 7 pm followed by the 9pm game under the lights , with Dog House (0-3-0) facing the Garson Hounds (1-2-1) .
