ROY AND PARSONS LEAD THE WAY FOR THE HOUNDS

                                      The opener for the evening gave the looks of a fine with the Panthers leading the Garson Hounds 4-3 after 5 frames . Everything unraveled in the last three innings for the Panthers as the Hounds’ bats came alive and in a big way smacking 8 runs on 12 hits in defeating them 11-6 . The Panthers could only manage 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th , John Ainslie (1-1 ) of the Hounds went the distance in recording his first win of the season .Ainslie gave up 6 runs ( 4 unearned ) on 5 hits , fanning 9 batters and issuing 3 walks . Gary Lamothe ( 3-3) suffered his 3rd loss of the season in going the distance .He gave up 11 runs on 15 hits , struck out 7 and issued but 1 walk . Eddy Roy ( 2 runs , 3 run homer , 4 rib's ) led the way for the winners going 3 for 4 at the plate while teammates Todd Parsons ( 3 runs , 2 triples , 2 rbi’s ) and Sylvain Ouellette ( run , rbi ) hit 2 for 3 . Cal Kimewon ( run ) and Pat Rogers ( run , triple ) both hit 1 for 2 in a losing cause .

JONCAS BACK INÂ THE GROOVE
                                          Following a couple of subpar outings , Carter Joncas , the league’s top pitcher 5-1 , came out on fire Monday night in Azilda (Rick McDonald Memorial Sports Complex) leading his first place Sudbury North Stars to a 11-2 routing of the winless Dog House Eatery and Sports Bar . He went the distance  giving up but two runs ( one earned ) on 3 hits , 6 strike outs and issuing 1 walk . Of the 22 batter he faced only 4 reached base . His counterpart from the Dog House , Mike Greslow ( 0-2 ) also went the distance giving up 11 runs ( 3 unearned ) , on 14 hits while fanning 2 batters and issuing but 1 walk . Trevor Owl hit 3 for 4 (run , 2 rib's ) with teammates Brett Demers 9 2 runs ,triple ), Junior Ilnitski (2 runs , 2 doubles , 2 rib's ) and Jesse St Cyr (2 runs , double , triple , 2 rib's ) all going 2 for 4 at the dish for the North Stars . Mike Greslow and Brian Kutchke hit 1 for 2 in losing cause for the Dog House .

                                            League action returns to the forefront on Thursday night , June the 26th , in Garson at the Lorne Brady Memorial Park with a doubleheader . In the opener at 7 pm , when the young Panthers try to rebound when they face the strong first place Sudbury North Stars . In the nightcap starting at 9 pm , the Garson Hounds will try to continue the hitting onslaught they started on Monday night when they take on the cellar dwelling Dog House .
                                            For the fastball enthusiasts , there is plenty of fastball up coming . This coming weekend (June 27th , 28th and 29th ) in Mindamoya , its there annual ladies and men’s fastball tournament . In mid July (19th,20th and 21st ), it’s the 20th annual Huntsville Men’s Fastball Tournament . On the weekend of July 26th and 27th it will be the 5th Annual Brad Rienguette “Shamou Shoot Out “ Memorial Fastball Tournament in Azilda’s Rick McDonald Memorial Sports Complex . Not mentioned in previous announcements , is the deadline of July 19th for entries . On August 22nd , 23rd and 24th it’s the Annual Native Fastball Tournament for men’s open ,ladies open , senior men and junior men . This year Perry Island is hosting , We now get to August . On August 29th , 30th and 31st (Labor Day Weekend ) it will be the 28th annual World’s Senior Men’s Fastball Tournament .(previously held in North Bay for the last 27 years ) . This one also will be held in Azilda .
