Michael Warner appointed ASA/USA Softball Commissioner for New Jersey ASA
OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Amateur Softball Association (ASA), a volunteer driven, not-for-profit organization, and USA Softball announced today that Michael Warner (Toms River, N.J.) has been appointed the commissioner for the New Jersey ASA/USA association. The change, effective January 1, 2015, takes place following the retirement of longtime New Jersey ASA/USA Commissioner Leo Spirito.

"I am most honored and thankful that ASA/USA Softball has selected me as the New Jersey ASA/USA Commissioner," said Warner. "With over 20 years of experience as a player and director, I am very excited to call ASA/USA my new home. I have seen the New Jersey ASA/USA at the highest level and with the team that we are assembling and the hard work and dedication, New Jersey ASA/USA will be stronger than it ever was."
Warner has a long history with the sport of softball which spans over 25 years as either a player, coach, commissioner or director. Within the last five years, Warner has sent over 100 teams to National Championships and Regional's as a coach/director. In addition to his coaching duties, Warner also taught youth hitting clinics and catching courses. He also has served as the Independent Sports Association (ISA) New Jersey Commissioner before serving as an area director for the New Jersey ASA/USA earlier this year. As an area director, he organized the New Jersey ASA/USA State Tournament.Â
Warner graduated from The College of New Jersey with a degree in Sports Science. He currently owns a Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) company in Toms River, N.J. He also is a player representative for Wilson/DeMarini.
