Jim Bradford/Neil Cane Memorial Tournament

I will compile a story today regarding the tournament but the final results are as follows;

Blake Contruction Services Masters Division - Cobourg Force defeats The Toronoto Gators in extra innings.


Sine and Son Carpet Intermediate/Junior Division - Curve Lake Slayers defeated the Stratford Juniors

Jim Bradford and Neil Cane Memorial Update

 

 

 

The Blake Construction Services and Sine and Son sponsored tournament began with rain and ended with rain, but the fastball over the weekend was excellent. In the Intermediate/Junior division final, Curve Lake Slayers defeated the Stratford Juniors for the Sine and Son Carpet trophy in what was the third game of the day for both teams. The Cobourg Force defeated the Toronto Gators 8-7 in 9 innings  to win the Blake Construction Services trophy for the game of the weekend, where we seen some great pitching and some great defense for both teams.

 

Intermediate and Junior Division

 

Napanee Shoeless Joe Juniors won the Turpin division with the Curve Lake Slayers finishing second, while the CPI Classics won the Quigley division with the Oshawa Rebels finishing second, and the Stratford Juniors won the Gutteridge division with the Oshawa Juniors finishing second. The Oshawa Juniors finished in a 3 way tie with Pickering Panthers and Orleans Rebels, but they had a better plus/minus ratio amongst the 3 teams.

 

Shoeless Joes and CPI each had a bye, but were defeated by the Stratford Juniors and Curve Lake which set up the final, in which Curve Lake Slayers won the game in 5 innings 10-2.

 

The scores for the weekend are as follows;

 

  1. Curve Lake defeated Campbellford – 3-2
  2. Pickering Panthers defeated Oshawa Juniors 8-7
  3. Oshawa Rebels defeated Napanee Juniors #2 7-0
  4. Napanee Juniors #1 defeated T. Hawks of Dieppe – 2-1
  5. Stratford Juniors defeated Orleans Rebels – 4-0
  6. CPI Classics defeated Quebec Juniors -  6-2
  7. T. Hawks of Dieppe defeated Campbellford – 5-2
  8. Stratford Juniors defeated Pickering Panthers 4-0
  9. Oshawa Rebels defeated Quebec 6-2
  10. Napanee Juniors #1 defeated Curve Lake Slayers 3-0
  11. Oshawa Juniors defeated Orleans Rebels – 8-1
  12. CPI Classics defeated Napanee Juniors #2 – 1-0
  13. Curve Lake Slayers defeated T. Hawks of Dieppe – 1-0
  14. Stratford Juniors defeated Oshawa Juniors 6-0
  15. Napanee Juniors#1 defeated Campbellford – 10-1
  16. Orleans Rebels defeated Pickering Panthers – 5-1
  17. CPI defeated Oshawa Rebels – 6-5
  18. Napanee Juniors defeated Quebec – 1-0 for the nightcap

 

 

 

 

 

Playoffs

 

  1. Stratford  defeated Oshawa Juniors 1-0
  2. Curve Lake Slayers defeated Oshawa Rebels 3-2
  3. Stratford defeated Napanee Shoeless Joes Juniors -  7-5
  4. Curve Lake Slayers defeated CPI – 9-5
  5. Final – Curve Lake defeated Stratford 10-2 to win the Sine and Son Carpet Trophy.

 

 

 

Masters Division

 

The teams competing for the Blake Construction Services trophy were the Rusty Jiggers, Cobourg Force, Toronto Gators and the Durham Bulls.

 

The scores for the weekend are as follows;

 

  1. Cobourg Force defeated Rusty Jiggers 5-2
  2. Durham Bulls defeated Toronto Gators 10-9
  3. Cobourg Force defeated Durham Bulls 8-1
  4. Toronto Gators defeated Rusty Jiggers 4-1
  5. Rusty Jiggers defeated Durham Bulls 5-0
  6. Toronto Gators defeated Cobourg Force 4-3
  7. Durham Bulls defeated Rusty Jiggers 6-5 – Consolation final
  8. Cobourg Force defeated Toronto Gators 8-7 in 9 innings to win the championship
