The Ontario Amateur Softball Association’s  Masters 40+ ‘A” & “B” and 50+ Legends Provincial Fastball Championships will take place this coming weekend July 17-19 in St. Clements Ontario at the St. Clements Community Centre. 9 teams will compete in the 40+ division and 5 teams will compete in the newly created 50+ Legends Division.

 

The 14 teams will battle it out to see who will be declared Ontario Champions, with Champions being declared in the 40+ A division, 40+ B division and the 50+ Legends Division.

Why not come on out to the park and see some great players in action, admission is free all weekend.

You can expect to see players like, Darren Zack, Frank Cox, Adam Smith, Tom Berube, Todd Uhrig, Mel Ross, Blair McBratney, Sammy Forbes, Mike Sedore, Dan Beecroft, Jason Smith, Ian Knott, Tim Yantzi, Roddy Fevreau, Rick Hames, Steve Price, Jamie Simpson, etc.

One of the items up for raffle is a framed Bobby Orr photo, “The Goal” and it’s personally autographed by Bobby Orr himself.

Special attraction in the area is the World famous St. Jacobs Farmer’s Market.

 

The following teams will be competing in the 40+ division, Grimsby Diamond Kings, Waterloo Classics, Waterdown Hammer, Ohsweken Senior Braves, Fenelon Falls Flyers,

St. Thomas Storm, Arthur Merchants, Cambridge Rusty Jiggers and the Kitchener Outlaws.

Teams competing in the 50+ Legends Division are, Toronto Gators, Waterloo Legends, Durham Bulls, Ingersoll Crush and the Waterdown Hammer. 

 

The Tournament will take a short break at 1:45pm on Saturday July 18th. for the Ontario Masters Fastball Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The following 6 people have all been

elected to the Hall of Fame, Sylvia Sparky Ryan, Rod Fevreau, Mike Red Dog O’Hearn, Dana Seiling, Jim Trimm and Paul Clemens.

Each inductee will receive a custom made and individually personalized Hall of Fame ring during the ceremony.

A special presentation will also be made to Waterdown Hammer Coach, Pete Chambers winner of the OASA’s Gil Read Coaches Award.
