Passing of Chris Ingram

September 22, 2015

St. Thomas, ON

It is with saddened hearts the Ontario fastball community has learned of the
passing of Chris Ingram, at the age of 66.

Chris was born in St.Thomas, Ontario and has been a fixture in local
softball for 5 decades. A talented first baseman he played for the Union
Greenshirts for many years then joined the Shedden Farm Equipment team of
the newly formed Memorial Fastball League in 1974. He shared in Shedden's
only MFL Championship in 1975.

An electrician by trade he always found time to give back to the game of
softball, and when he finished playing helped coach his son Jeff through the
past 2 decades. He and his wife Debbie travelled North America attending
major club tournaments, ISC World Tournament events and Canadian
Championships. For the past decade he was a fixture in the stands and one of
the true "fence sitters" of the game.

Chris had an infectious smile and he was always happy to talk fastball with
players, coaches and of course his wife Debbie. You knew they were serious
fans when they upgraded the motor home to a travel bus, they didn't miss
much when it came to ball parks.

On behalf of all the players who have shared the bench with Chris, the fans
who have come to know him around the fastball circuit and those of us who
were fortunate to grow up with him, we extend our sincere expression of
sympathy to his wife Debbie, son Jeff, daughters Melisa and Angela and the
entire Ingram family.

Sincerely,

Larry Lynch
