ASA/USA Annual Meeting concludes with the awarding of 2017 ASA/USA National Championship sites

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Amateur Softball Association (ASA) of America and USA Softball concluded the 84th Annual Meeting in Louisville, Ky.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Amateur Softball Association (ASA) of America and USA Softball concluded the 84th Annual Meeting in Louisville, Ky. today after a week of evaluating proposed rule and code changes for all divisions of ASA/USA Softball. ASA/USA Softball also announced today its sites for the 2017 Championship season as teams will begin their quest for the ultimate goal in softball: to hold up an ASA/USA National Championship trophy.

"We're excited to show our teams, coaches and fans all the amenities of these selected cities," said ASA/USA Director of Championships Chris Sebren. "Teams know when they reach an ASA/USA National Championship they are playing the best-of-the-best, and these cities and facilities are the perfect place to showcase that legacy."

Rodney Cobb of Texas ASA/USA was reelected to be the Southern Territory Vice President for a seat on the ASA/USA Softball Board of Directors and Andy Dooley of Piedmont VA ASA/USA will continue his seat on the Board of Directors as the Eastern Territory Vice President. In the Northern Territory, new to the board was the election of Darrin Duistermars of Michigan ASA/USA and the Western Territory elected Sam Ducato of Oakland ASA/USA as its representative.

The 2016 meeting will be held November 12-18, 2016 in Shreveport, La. and in 2017 the ASA/USA membership and guests will head to Greensboro, N.C.
