Top Ranked Canadian Players and Pitchers

Kitchener, ON - Have you ever wondered how non-Canadian players, coaches and administrators rate Canadian players? We surveyed 25 of them and did the same thing for American players, New Zealanders, Australians and Argentinians. Those results will be released at a later time.

Have you ever wondered how non-Canadian players, coaches and administrators rate Canadian players? We surveyed 25 of them and did the same thing for American players, New Zealanders, Australians and Argentinians. Those results will be released at a later time.

We surveyed 25 players, coaches and administrators from outside of Canada on who they felt were the best active Canadian players.

We felt that getting the opinions of opposing players, coaches and
administrators takes out all of the bias that fellow Canadians may have and these experts have the best gauge of who these players are and their abilities to perform on the field based on their pedigree.

The voters included: 4 administrators, 4 coaches, 8 world class pitchers (2 USA, 2 NZ, 1 VEN, 3 ARG), 9 world class position players (4 USA, 2 NZ, 2 AUS, 1 DEN)

To no one's surprise, 12 of the top 13 players as ranked by the group are members of Team Canada who won Gold medals at the WBSC and Pan American Championships in 2015. The top five were:

1. Steve Mullaley -2013 and 2014 ASA MVP-Pan Ams & FWM's #4 ranked player in the world

2. Jeff Ellsworth-2014 ISC MVP, FWM's #2 ranked player in the world & Captain of Canada

3, Mathieu Roy-2012 ASA MVP & FWM's #5 ranked player in the world

4. Brad Ezekiel-2015 All World player & FWM's #9 ranked player in the world

5. Jason Hill-Led the WBSC for most of the tournament in hitting & ranks in top 30 players in the world
