Hotels and Committee updates

HOTEL HEADS-UP

My son just told me that there is a big music festival in Kitchener
the same weekend as "our" tournament...KOI Fest...no idea what it means
but it has nothing to do with fish in a backyard pond.. KOI fest is playing the same
weekend.

This is a heads up on getting hotels arranged...I have no idea what impact
KOI fest music will have but it wouldn't hurt to book your hotel early if
you haven't

Here is a map and the listing of hotels we have been in contact with

COMMITTEE WORK

Organizing and running a softball tournament of this size and calibre
takes a lot of work...here are a number of those volunteers

The Tournament Chairman is Rick Boyd, He will see that all the rough
edges are smoothed out over the 30 some games.

Umpire in Chief is Tim Whitelaw

Hotel arrangements were made by committee member Bernie Burnett a local
legend in high school athletics, organizer of many high school league
teams and championships.

Dennis Dosman is looking after the scorers and announcers
There will be a dozen or more on this team...

Don Snow, Bob McKillop, Bernie Burnett are on Games Control. A couple
others will support this...there will be 3 diamonds in play all weekend
long...a big job...but some great guys working on keeping this on track.

Food and Beverage operations will be under the direction of Jim and Sue
Hallman. They will have Donna's Diner well stocked with pies, ice cream,
pop and sandwich

Bob MacMillan is the owner of the Heidelberg Hotel. Bob and his staff
will be serving hungry ball fans with his famous beef on a bun with
coleslaw or sauerkraut or both, and french fries. Bob will start
Chilling Coors lite and have lots of beverages ready for thirsty
for ball fans.

"Sheriff" Tom Walker will be marshall of the RV corral behind the
arena. There is water and electricity available.

Get in touch with Tom atwalkthm@aol.com

Matt Allen and Gord Dearborn Christine Proctor will be posting scores on social media and
taking some action photos....

Start to Reading...Machelle Dennison will be looking after that
important fundraising event for the committee.

Brad Thomson and Scott Mitchell will be busy with the host team
Kitchener Hallman Cubs.

Doug Neil and Mike Hanley will be looking after the youth pitcher's

pitchers on Saturday.
