Also with the WBSC Junior Men\'s World Championships beginning in Midland Michigan July 24th, 2016, we are pleased to welcome to the tournament field the ‎following Junior Teams :
Canadian ‎Junior Men\'s National Team
Australian Junior Men\'s National Team
Czech Republic Junior Men\'s National Team
Rounding out the field will be our own Tavistock Athletics Junior Men\'s Team, Host team for the 2016 Canadian Championships to be held in Tavistock August 2nd to 7th. This will be the first ever National Fastpitch Championship Tournament to be hosted in Tavistock, so mark those dates on your calendar as well as it promises to be another exciting week of fastball in your favorite fastball village!!!
Moving back to the Cephas Roth Tournament, the format for this year\'s event will include 3 pools of 5 teams with a 4 game guarantee. The winners of each pool along with the best 2nd place finishing team will move on to our Sunday morning semi final games followed by a Sunday afternoon Championship Final.
Games will take place at our own beautiful Queens Park and Optimist Park as well as the outstanding facility 2 miles down the road in Shakespeare Ontario.
We will again be hosting a Pee Wee Boys All Star game on the Saturday afternoon in our efforts to continually support and encourage our youth to play the game .
As an extension of this year\'s events, the beverage tent and bbq will open on Wednesday July 13th as the Czech Republic ‎Junior Nationals will take on BOTH of our Tavistock Junior teams at 7:00pm and 9:00pm.
Round Robin play will begin on Thursday July 14th with potential for 2 and possibly 3 local games that night (to be determined).
As with every Cephas Roth Tournament, the merry band of many Tavistock Athletics Minor Ball executive, coaches and players will be on hand for the entire weekend manning the gates, serving the hot food and cold drinks, maintaining the diamonds and twisting your arms to by 50/50 and raffle tickets to support the cause. ‎Our speciality is hospitality and we know you will enjoy our country version of a fun weekend at the yard!
