St. John's, NL - Stack wins a bronze with Canada at world junior softball championship

Mitch Stack of Petty Harbour became the 14th player from Newfoundland and Labrador to win a medal in world junior softball as Canada finished third in the 2016 WBSC junior men’s fastpitch championship which finished up in Midland, Mich., over the weekend.
Canada had finished 3-2 in the round-robin, but with just a single life, rang up three straight wins over the Czech Republic, United States and defending champion Argentina before losing 12-7 to New Zealand in the Page semifinal Saturday.
New Zealand would fall 2-1 to Japan in the final.
Stack, a catcher, went 2-for-3, with a walk and three runs scored in the tourney.
