AlsFastball Proud to add Men’s Fastpitch SA (MFSA) as a Friend

Men’s Fastpitch SA (MFSA) is a men’s competition in Adelaide, South Australia and we’d love to become a friend of Al’s Fastball

 

Our competition brings together our Mens players from around the State and offers high quality:

-          Venue: Diamond Sports SA has been the beneficiary of almost $5m in local government funding to upgrade the facility here at West Beach over the last 3 years – the home of MFSA

 

-          Umpires: including an Olympian and ISF Hall of Famer (Neville Lawrance) and multiple World Championship umpire (Damien McCauley)

 

-          Administration/Statisticians: Lindy Rattigan has just finished in Midland with the Junior Steelers and is a multiple Junior World Championship scorer. Her administration of the competition is what sets us apart and helped revitalise of competition in a ‘female focused’ softball region. Her son, Scott Rattigan is a local great of the game with an exceptional playing reputation around Australia and a veteran of a couple of tours through NZ. He has been a driving force behind the resurgence of Mens Fastpitch in our State and even recognised with a National award for the ‘Softball Australia Local Association of the Year’ in 2013

 

-          Coaches: including Wess Frances (former Australian player 1990 and Australian U19 Mens Asst Coach 2012 and 2014) and James Harris (Netherlands Asst Coach 2012 and 13 and Australian Special Olympics 2015)

 

-          Touring Teams: Throughout the 00’s, MFSA was represented by the Glenelg Rebels that toured to a number of tournaments in New South Wales and Canberra Skins, later a combined effort with the Hahndorf Magpies and most recently those two teams have merged to form the Nairne Angels Masters (Australian Masters Champions 2015 and have registered for the World Masters in Auckland April 2016)

 

-          Players: MFSA has a number of players of current and recent international regard

o   Jarryd Farrell (current Aussie Steelers squad, 3rd year in ISCs this year) is a local

o   Joel Cooley (St Paul, MN - Tin Cup and) has played the last 5 summers here

o   Donnelly Archibald (current NE Drillers and former All-World selection with Jarvis) was living here completing his PhD the last few years

o   Ryan Volk (recent ISC newcomer award and regular participant in Europe) played here in 2012/13 season

o   Laurie Peters (playing his first ISCs this year with Tin Cup) has recently moved to Adelaide

o   James Harris (Tin Cup 2015 ISCs, 2014 European SuperCup Champions and 2010 Dutch National Champions with DVH-Amstelveen)

o   Jack O’Loughlin 15 years old about to be signed to an MLB team
