Alvinston, ON - The Alvinston Indians hung on to win on home turf on Thursday night against the Delaware Highlanders

The Alvinston Indians hung on to win on home turf on Thursday night against the Delaware Highlanders.  The Highlanders piled on 13 runs, however, Alvinston countered with 17, for what was a run-filled affair.  With the Indians missing several key players to Canadian Jr. Championships, the ASA's, and vacation, the team came back from a 11-5 deficit to win 17-13.  Mark McNally started on the mound for the Indians.  He was relieved by Jamie Shields, who would eventually collect the win.  The Indians had only 9 players, but they battled hard in the win.  McNally hit a two run home run for Alvinston, while Jamie Shields hammered two home runs in the win, with one of them being a three-run bomb. Kole Keating reached base on all five occasions, via three walks and two hits.  All Indians players had at least one hit in the win, while several players had 2.

The Indians are on the road tomorrow night, as they travel to Newbury for a 7:30pm start.  The Indians improved their league record to 11-4 on the season.
