GIJANG COUNTY, Korea -- The World Baseball Softball Confederation today announced broadcast rights agreements in the Americas, Asia and Oceania for the
LG Presents WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup® 2016, which opens this Saturday (3 September) in Gijang, Republic of Korea.
The host broadcasting rights of the VII Women's Baseball World Cup in Gijang have been awarded to Korea's SBS -- one of the nation's premier television networks, with a reach of 18.7 million. SBS will oversee the video production of 26 of the 32 world championship games from the new $US 18.1 million Gijang-Hyundai Dream Ballpark. The Korean television giant will have the exclusive broadcast rights across all media platforms, including mobile, online and television.
In-game commentary will be produced in four languages: Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean.
OCEANIA
ESPN, one of the world's leading sports networks, has been awarded television rights across the Oceania territories of Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands and Papua New Guinea. ESPN will telecast the matches of the world No. 3 Australian Women's National Baseball Team.

In Japan, BS-TBS will showcase the LG Presents WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup to viewers over its free-to-air channel, while J SPORTS Corporation has also been awarded television rights and will bring the event to its 6.5 million subscribers.
Taiwan's biggest sports channel, Videoland, has been awarded the exclusive rights in the nation to broadcast the LG Presents WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup 2016 across television and online platforms, which potentially reach 23 million viewers.
ASTRO, a leading content and consumer group in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, has been awarded broadcast rights in Malaysia and will feature the LG Presents WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup 2016 games across its platform of 4.9 million subscribers.

In Singapore, Eleven Sports Network obtained rights to broadcast the LG Presents WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup 2016.

AMERICAS
Mexico City-based AYM Sports has acquired rights in Mexico, Puerto Rico and the United States to broadcast the LG Presents WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup 2016 to its 6.0 million LAS network subscribers.

Coverage of the pinnacle women's baseball event will also feature free global live-streaming via
YouTube.com/WBSC. The online world feed will be available outside the territories covered by WBSC's Official Broadcast Partners.
Twitter-owned SnappyTV will also be integrated for sharing exciting action and instant replays from live broadcasts, in cooperation with WBSC's broadcast partners, to stimulate social media sharing/discussion and drive audiences to the full on-air broadcast.
At the conclusion of each international match in Gijang, fan-favourite highlights will be produced and video-on-demand will be available to worldwide audiences through WBSC's official social media platforms.
