The New Zealand Under 15 Boys Developing Sox team have arrived in Mackay, Australia in anticipation for the Under 17 Queensland State Softball Championships. The three day tournament will commence this Saturday and include 10 teams from within the Queensland State.

 

Head Coach Dennis Clueard believes this is a fantastic opportunity for the boys and one that will serve them well helping to deepen the playing pool for future Sox teams. “Our goal is to identify young talent and prepare these boys for future honours. Team goals and a positive culture have already been developed and all going to plan these will come to fruition over the weekend” says Clueard.

 

The tour is the second and final stage of the team’s 2016 programme having been involved in a five day camp in Hamilton earlier this year. The Hamilton exercise achieved a number of development goals finishing with games against a combined 15/17 age group Waikato team and two games against the Aussie Sparks touring side.
