ISC Canada East June Qualifier - Innerkip

May 19, 2017

Innerkip, ON - - ISC Canada East June Qualifier - Innerkip

May 19, 2017  –  The ISC Canada East qualifier has been a mainstay on the Ontario tournament circuit since the early 1970s, when the Ontario Fastball League was affiliated with the ISC. Winners over the years include Oshawa Tony’s, Grimsby Peach Kings, Agincourt Rawlings, Toronto Gators and Owen Sound Tiremen among others. In the 2000s, teams that have won the qualifier multiple times include the Gators, Scarborough Force, Kitchener Cubs, Waterdown Hammer and Ottawa Team Easton Thunder.

For the last five years, the Canada East qualifier has grown to include a U21 Championship. Winners include Wiarton Red Devils, Stratford Cubs, Alvinston Junior Indians and New Hamburg Mustangs, all of whom have gone on to success at the ISC U21 Championship held at the annual ISC World Tournament.

For 2017, we will have a strong field of 14 men’s teams and 6 U21 teams. By the time we finish, some time around 7 pm on Sunday evening, we’ll have completed 37 games. As always, we will send a strong contingent of Canada East teams to the ISC World Tournament, where teams from our region have now won the past nine ISC World Championships. We are also pleased to have ISC Umpire-in-Chief Bruce Bierman as the UiC for our tournaments and ISC Statistician Gary Baughman providing full stats packages.
