Aces win at Home !

Alvinston, ON - - Aces win at Home !


The Alvinston Aces faced the Port Stanley Phillies on Thursday night at home in Alvinston.  

 

Cole Pavey took the mound for Alvinston, while Port Stanley countered with Jeff Laidlaw.  The teams traded runs in the first inning.  Port Stanley scored their opening run on an error, while Bryan Johnson singled and stole second base, before Robbie Black doubled to bring him home.  

 

Port Stanley scored the go ahead run in the second inning, making it 2-1 for Port Stanley, however Alvinston answered in their half of the second inning. With Cole Pavey on second base after he singled in the third inning, and with two out, Andy Triest hit an RBI single to score Pavey for the go ahead run. Andy Triest would eventually score what turned out to be the winning run, when Rowan Lam walked with the bases loaded.     

 

Taylor Degraw pitched the last three innings for the Aces to preserve the one run win, and 3-2 win for Alvinston. The Aces are now 2-1 on the young season, and travel to Port Stanley on Tuesday night
