Fastball Pitching : Photos - Sat. May 6th St Clements Arena

Last Saturday the Twin Centres Minor Softball organization hosted a
pitching clinic at the St Clements arena. 50 pitchers along with 50
catchers attended. There were two classes; novice in the morning and
pitchers with 3 or 4 years experience in the afternoon.

Under the leadership of head instructor Doug Neil the kids learned to
grip, throw and control a softball. The older group learned some
advanced pitches including drop and rise pitches, change ups, etc. There
was also some great instruction on the mental aspects of pitching,
timing, pitch selection etc.

The instructors included Fred Follings, Larry Cox and Sam Forbes of the
Shakespeare Falcons, Brad Thomson of the Kitchener Cubs, plus Ron
Gilbert, Mac Mulvay, Dylan Hehn and Trevor Hehn.

Trevor organized the event, took the registrations, sorted the players
by age and ability and succeeded in putting on a great clinic for the kids.

Thanks to Deanna Hehn and Dennis Dosman for their assistance as well.

There are plans to enlarge the clinic next spring.
