WATERLOO, Ont. (August 23, 2017)- The Laurier women’s fastpitch team is pleased to announce they will host the 2017 Ontario Intercollegiate Women’s Fastpitch Association (OIWFA) Provincial Championships on October 14-15 at the Peter Hallman Ball Yard in Kitchener.

The top eight university fastpitch teams of the thirteen team league will compete in a double knockout tournament over two days. The top two seeds in the tournament will automatically qualify for the National Championships to be held in Western Canada in 2018.

This is the second time the Golden Haws fastpitch program has hosted the provinces best university fastpitch teams, previously hosted in 2008. The Golden Hawks won the Provincial Championships in 2007 and have captured a silver medal in both 2014 and 2015.

The host hotel will be the Radisson Hotel, Kitchener with a banquet at Bingaman’s Conference Centre highlighting OIWFA awards on Friday evening.
