Ontario Amateur Softball Association Hall of Fame 2017

Burlington, ON - - Ontario Amateur Softball Association Hall of Fame 2017


The OASA is pleased to be inducting five new members into the Hall of Fame at the AGM on November 25. Congratulations to all honoured!

Brian Paton (Woodstock): Brian was a 15 year member of Softball Canada's Men's National Team, a 4 time PanAm Champion, a 1992 ISF Champion, and a member of the Toronto Gators 1993, 95 and 96 OASA Senior Men's and Softball Canada Champions. Brian still volunteers his time at OASA Springboard Clinics. Player category.

Ron Taylor (Oshawa): Ron has served 39 years on the OASA advisory council in various roles: rule book chairman for 21 years, nutured and grew the OASA insurance program from 1989 to 2014 as insurance co-ordinator, started fastball skill schools in Eastern Ontario in the 1980s and won 8 all Ontario championships. Cliff Belch (Belleville): Cliff dedicated over 60 years to game, first treasurer of Canadian Amateur Softball Association and served in that capacity for 4 and half years. Cliff and PWSA President Betty Kalaileff founded Softball Ontario. Builder category.

Bill Simpson (Owen Sound): Bill was part of the 2000, 2002 and 2003 Canadian Champions. He was involved in hosting many provincial elimnation tournaments and has hosted many National events for Softball Canada. Bill has been the driving force behind fastball in the Owen Sound / Bluewater area and has stayed very active with his involment with the local junior program. Builder category.

Larry Lynch (Kitchener-Waterloo): Larry has made a tremendous contribution to the game of softball during his lifetime. He continues to promote the game throughout North America today. As a manager and builder he has been the person responsible for the success of his teams and their long standing competitiveness at the highest level of the game. For the past 29 years Larry has been the field manager and coach of men's teams, winning titles at various levels including the OASA, Softball Canada and International Softball Congress.
