OASA Softball in Schools Program

December 29, 2017

Toronto, ON - - OASA Softball in Schools Program

The Ontario Amateur Softball Association is pleased to announce that the Softball in Schools program will continue in 2018 under the direction of immediate Past President Garry Waugh.

School teachers and other school staff looking for a new gym activity for students during the winter or spring months - one that requires no prep time - are urged to participate.

The OASA will work with schools to provide instruction in the skills of fastball at no cost. All equipment is provided by the OASA, keeping safety in mind: indoor softballs, wiffle balls, nets and rubber bats. We work with the physical education timetable that is set out for us for the day to instruct the students in hitting, catching, throwing and fielding. Our instructors are former players and coaches who have played and coached the game at high levels of competition.

By introducing the sport of softball in a fun way, we are hoping to encourage participants to sign up to play softball in their community. We are also working with local softball associations to have registration forms available for anyone interested.
