The Hill United Chiefs are proud to announce their first ever hometown fastball tournament, in Ohsweken, Six Nations, Ontario, June 29 - July 1, 2018.

The event will serve as an early season opportunity for some of Ontario's premier teams to get primed for a run at the ISC World Championship to be held just a half an hour down the road in Kitchener's Peter Hallman Ball Yard, August 11 - 18.

The Chief's event will also include a major international presence, with New Zealand Jr. National Team, Australia's Jr. Nationall Team, the Bear Bottom Lodge Haymakers from USA, Toronto Batmen, Nith River Monsters and Kitchener Hallman Cubs from southern Ontario, and from Six Nations, Ontario, the Ohsweken Redmen and the host and reining ISC World Champion Hill United Chiefs.

The New Zealand and Australian Jr. National Teams will be warming up for their trip to the WBSC Junior Men's World Championship in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan later in July, and wrapping up their week long tour of Ontario on the way west. The Nith River Monster include a number of young and talented softball players who participated with these two during the last WBSC Junior World's in Midland, Michigan, in 2016. New Zealand finished 2nd while Canada finished 3rd in the 2016 championship.

Hill United Chiefs general manager , Bryan Porter, is thrilled to be able to bring the 4 times ISC World Champions back to Ohsweken to showcase his team  in front of the hometown fans. " We knew we had an early season opening in our tournament schedule" said Porter, "and when the sponsorship and management team sat down to talk, the concept of a tournament in Six Nations was the perfect solution. We were a little late out of the gate this year and some teams already had their plans for the summer made. We are very happy with our line up though and will build on this for the future."

The Hill United Invitational will be an 8 team, 2 division set up, with round robin play for positioning in the division. Playoffs will be a single elimination with all 8 teams making the playoff round. Play will get underway on Friday night, June 29 at 7:00 pm and will continue at two diamonds all weekend. The final is tentatively scheduled for 2:00 pm on Sunday July 1.

Six Nations of the Grand River is the largest First Nations reserve in Canada. It is the only reserve in North America that has representatives of all six Iroquois nations living together. These nations include the Mohawk, Cayuga, Onondaga, Oneida, Seneca and Tuscarora. Some Lenape (formerly known as Delaware also live in the territory.) The community has a long and storied history in sports with lacrosse, hockey, softball and stock car racing being in the center of it all. The Six Nations Chiefs have won 6 Mann Cup championships since 1995, the pinnacle of Canadian men's lacrosse. Hill United Chiefs have won 4 ISC crowns, 3 straight ASA National Championships and 3 straight AAU National Championships since 2012.

In addition to sports Six Nations is the birth place of legendary First Nations Academy Award nominated actor Graham Greene; the home of screen star and athlete Jay Silverheels best remembered as the Lone Ranger's sidekick Tonto; and the birth home of singer, songwriter and actor Robbie Robertson's mother. Robertson spent a great deal of family time here growing up.
