SR Aces Steal Game 2

Alvinston, ON - - SR Aces Steal Game 2

The Chippewa Chiefs had Alvinston on the ropes, as they lead 6-4 heading into the final Alvinston at bat, in their best of 5 semi-final series in South Middlesex Men's Fastball League action. But it wasn't enough. With only six hits for Alvinston up until that point, a one out single by pinch-hitter Kevin Morgan got the Aces going. Ryan Chapman then entered as a pinch hitter, and after getting behind early in the count, he fought his way to a walk. Bryan Johnson had a 10 pitch at bat before finally working his way to a walk to load the bases with one out. That set the stage for Joe Triest who hit a hard single to left field to score both Harley Thorp who reentered to run for Morgan, and Andy Triest who reentered to run for Chapman. On the same play however, an error by the outfielder allowed Bryan Johnson to score all the way from first for the game's winning run, and a 7-6 Alvinston win.

Bryan Johnson ended up earning the win for Alvinston, in relief of Taylor Degraw on the mound. Rowan Lam hit a solo homerun for Alvinston in the first inning of the game. Chris Drew was the only Alvinston player who recorded a multihit game. Game 3 in the series goes Tuesday in Alvinston at 8:00pm.
