USA Softball ACE Coach Education Program awards 5,000th coach of 2019 season

OKLAHOMA CITY – USA Softball announced today that Jeremy Faries (Abilene, Texas) has won a prize pack after becoming the 5,000th coach to complete the ACE (Aspire, Challenge, Encourage) Coach Education Program this 2019 season. The ACE Coach Education Program is designed to provide softball coaches of all levels, from beginning coaches to experienced veterans, an opportunity to further their education as a coach with the National Governing Body of Softball. Teaming up with Pocket Radar™ to provide coaches with a prize pack, at every 5,000th milestone USA Softball will award that coach with a brand new Ball Coach Training Tool, courtesy of Pocket Radar™ ($300 value).   “I first got involved in coaching through my kids playing,” said Faries. “I started learning the game of softball when my kids wanted to join youth sports. We felt like softball would be great to get involved with and haven’t looked back since."   Having taken the ACE Education courses, Faries said, “I try and utilize ACE Education to further my knowledge of the game. This game was brand new to me like it is to a lot of folks who get involved so it’s a great tool to help you understand the game and what it entails. We use the training videos frequently especially when there is something we don’t know or haven’t seen before.”   As the National Governing Body of Softball, it is USA Softball’s responsibility to ensure that coaches achieve a certain level of understanding of their duties as a coach of a youth softball team. The ACE Coach Education Program videos and the ACE Coach Program Manual are practical guides to the everyday situations encountered as a youth softball coach.   When asked what him and his team most enjoy about playing USA Softball, Faries said, “…the relationships you build meeting new people who share the same goals and interests as you.”   It is highly recommended that all coaches wishing to coach at the Championship Play level or those coaches wanting to receive full ACE Coach program benefits become an ACE coach.
