The inclusion of Softball and Baseball in the Olympics 2020

The good news is Fastpitch Softball will be included in the Olympics 2020. With the final verdict announced in Rio 2016, we are all set to view some fantastic Softball in Action out there:

For now, let’s take a look at some of the top softball stories of all times:

Florida with two National Championships

The Gators had never ever made to Super Regionals before Tim Walton. In fact, they had missed out on three seasons.

Now, they have 7 WCWS show-ups, 2 Times WCWS runner-up trophies and an iconic two National Championships, that too, back to back in 2014 and 2015 which is outstanding!

Lauren Haeger as the Player of the Year -2015 for an excellent show!

2015 was Haeger’s Year in the history of Softball. With titles like USA Softball National College Player of the Year, All-SEC first team, SEC female athlete of the year, SEC pitcher of the year and many more….

It's for sure she cemented her position in the Florida Gators Softball. Just 26 years old, she is a fastpitch pro.

USA Winning against Japan

In the World Cup Softball X Championship, Amanda Chidester and the US national Softball team outperformed Japan. Taking revenge for the 2008 Olympics, the US beat Japan overwhelmingly in 2015.

The US has won seven times against Japan in the World Cup in a decade.

Jessica Mendoza’s Great Historic Appointment

Mendoza’s Appointment for ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball was not only historic but also sensational. It was so phenomenal, that 2015 became her year with the title of “The Year of Women” in Sports.

Mendoza replaced Curt Schilling for an ill-reputed tweet.

She also made history on Oct 6, 2015, when she sat along John Kruk and Dan Shulman to give commentary in the American League Wild-Card Game.

Lauren Chamberlain’s 91st Home Run

It was history to her name, when Lauren Chamberlain established herself as the College Softball’s Achiever, after breaking UCLA Stacey Nuveman’s home run record.

Lauren Chamberlain’s 91st home runs against North Texas broke the 13 years NCAA home runs record.

This was absolutely historic and a grand story in the making. She made it to 95 home runs in total.

NPF Expansion

Since 1995 tour of Women’s Pro Fastpitch, NPF was trying very hard to make some serious and steady changes to its team. In 2002, it was revamped and renamed as National Pro Fastpitch, which was really required.  In 2015, it expanded with Dallas Charge. NPF got total of 6 teams in 2016.

More excited, wait for Olympic 2020 with Olympic softball pitching high!
