Saturday: Four teams with two wins

Locos Breclav vs Beavers Chomutov (6: 3, 3: 0)

The first fights in this year's extraleague of men started on the field with a newcomer from Břeclav, where Chomutov arrived. Although the Chomutov Beavers got into the lead when they gave one point in the first innings, Locos recovered and scored four points in the fourth shift. Chomutov corrected this loss in the fifth shift and lost only a point, but Břeclav added two more points by the end of the match and scored the first win in the season. In this match, new reinforcements were introduced as pitcher - Zachary Pierce on the Břeclav side and Clayton Robinson on Chomutov's side. The second match didn't offer as many points as the previous one. The beavers were unable to score even once, while Locos scored three points. The home team couldn't even wish for a better start to the new season as it took two wins after the first day.

 

Hippos Havlickuv Brod vs. Painbusters Most (3: 1, 8: 6)

The next match was Havlíčkův Brod and Most. In the very first match, the national pitcher Michal Holobrádek stood on the pitch, while the Argentinian pitcher Martin Gonzál was throwing on the other side. The quality of the two pitchers was felt throughout the match. There were only five hits, three on Hippo's side, two on Painbusters side. Everything ended up with a 3: 1 victory for Havlíčkův Brod. The beginning of the second match had grades. There were a lot of hits on both sides and a total of four finishes on each side. After that, the teams decided to replace the pitchers, so there was a new acquisition on the side of Havlíčkův Brod - Harrison Pudner from Australia. Hippos scored four more points by the end of the match and won 8: 6. So they added two winnings from the opening day.

The newcomer of the season greeted Painbusters on his field this time. And Locos showed them to be reckoned with this season. The home team won 6: 3 and scored a third win. The second match was exciting until the end. Most got into the lead and led by two runs in the last shift. Břeclav was still trying to pull out the lead of his opponent, but only scored once and fell for the first time in the season. But for the newcomer, the three wins in four games are a great start to the season. "With 3: 1 after the first weekend we are very satisfied. Entering a higher competition is always associated with subtle insecurity and excitement from the unknown. I don't want to sound bold, but we were aware of our strength in defense before the season began. What we were not sure about was our competitiveness in the offensive phase of the game. That is why I am pleased that our players have managed to grapple with a high pitch and have scored at least three times in each match. But we have no head in the clouds and we will fight the match after the game. But we are sure that the opponents will have to trouble themselves against the points against us, ” head coach Locos Dušan Borbély evaluated the weekend.

 

Hippos Havlickuv Brod vs Beavers Chomutov (4: 2, 2: 7)

Havlíčkův Brod welcomed Chomutov on his field this time. There was a fairly solid hit (12), but the beats were scattered in small increments into four shifts. Hippos soon reached the lead, which they did not release until the end of the match, thus winning a 4: 2 win and a third victory over the weekend. However, Havlíčkův Brod was not so convincing in the next match. Beavers had been in the lead since the beginning of the match and did not let go of their lead, eventually taking the 7: 2 match and scoring their first win this season. "With the start of the season we are certainly satisfied. We were glad that the season finally started and we can play outside. We are delighted to see three wins in the first weekend. It was great that we were able to push through to the foreign pitchers and we also played well in the defense, as the first day's matches ended in a narrow difference. Especially for this reason we are happy for three victories, ”said Michal Holobrádek from Havlíčkův Brod.

 

Eagles Praha vs Sharks Ledenice (2: 8, 3:11)

Eagles on their playground in Krč welcomed Ledenice. Sharks already gave three points in the first innings, after which they expanded the point account. The Eagles got together only twice and they were not eligible to win. Ledenice won 8: 2. The second match was clearly in favor of the South Bohemian whole. This time, however, the game ended after five shifts, when the Sharks won 11: 3. “ With four wins, we are certainly happy, but only four wins are four wins. But I think we could play a bit better. Our game was rather average. The weather and the whole system of this year's league, when the team does not fall and the teams do not play at the racing pace, will surely have a sign, ” said Jiří Korčák from Ledenic.

 

Tempo Prague vs Spectrum Prague (4: 3, 7: 6)

Another Prague duel was also on Sunday, with Spectrum coming to the Tempa course. And the very first game brought a breathtaking spectacle, as it was 2: 2 after seven shifts, so it went to the break. Neither team was able to score for a long time, so the match reached the eleventh shift. The visiting team withdrew one point, so the Tempo had to at least level. However, the home team won two points so they scored 4: 3 and Petr Bednar's "two-man" was the decisive shot. Even the second match ended just a point, but now after seven shifts. The pace finally defended its lead and won 7: 6.
