Chiefs Bring World Class Pitchers into Simcoe
 
The Hill United Chiefs are proud to introduce fans to one of the great lineups of pitching in any tournament event this year, when they host the Hill United, Chiefs Challenge, Friday June 28 through Sunday June 30, at Lions Park, Simcoe Ontario. The eight (8) team event will features all teams in action on two diamonds on Friday night beginning at 7:00 pm. Preliminary round games will continue all day beginning at 9:00 am, then first round of the playoffs will go Saturday night, starting at 7:00 pm. The semi-finals will get underway on Sunday at 10:00 am with the championship scheduled for 12:30 pm .
 
With National team players focusing on the WBSC World Tournament in Prague, Czech Republic in early June and the Pan American Games in Lima ,Peru in late July, pitchers will be totally primed when they join their North American club teams in late June. The Chiefs Challenge will be a fantastic opportunity to see arguably the best pitchers in the major men's game in our own back yard for this Simcoe event.
 
The lineup of pitching stars includes the dynamic duo of Andrew Kirkpatrick and Adam Folkard from Australia, along with young Aussie Layton Reid; from Argentina, Max Monteiro, Juan Potolicchio, Roman Godoy, Pablo Migliavaca, Huemel Mata; Kiwi's Josh Petit, Riley Makea, Karl Gollan, and Daniel Chapman; from Dominican Republic, Yan Carlos Gonzalez Diaz; from Czech Republic, last years tournament MVP Michal Holobradek; and from Canada Devin McCulloch, Ryan French, Caleb Keeshig, Kyle Linton and Jason Hill. Every one of these pitching specialist have toed the rubber for respective National Team programs and they will all be looking to build momentum for the ultimate club team prize, the International Softball Congress World Tournament in Denmark ,Wisconsin in mid August.
 
If you have not been to Simcoe , it is one of the great spots to host a major tournament. Hotels are all within 5-10 minutes from the park, the fastball complex has 3 great diamonds, two will be used for games and one for warm ups. Lots of great seating, great restaurants close by and the host committee will once again feature world class diamond food from the Hill family with a tented refreshment area open between the two playing diamonds.
