Christchurch, NZ - - Russell Moffat passes

Sad news from Softball New Zealand:

 

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Russell Moffat.

Russell was the Black Sox statistician at five world championships and an official statistician at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

Russell was recognised and honoured by being inducted into Softball New Zealand's Hall of Fame in 2006 and the International Softball Federation’s Hall of Fame in 2012.

A Cantabrian and steward of the game, Russell will be truly missed. Our deepest condolences to Russell’s family and friends.

A memorial service will be held next Tuesday at 2pm at the Westpark Chapel (Lamb & Haywood), 467 Wairakei Road, in Christchurch. Loud pants, shirts and hats welcome too.
