Japanese Olympic gold medalist Miu Goto received the Japanese Softball League 2021 MVP award at the JSL individual ceremony award held at the Tokyo Dome Hotel. Pitching for the Toyota Red Terriers, the 20-year-old left-hander finished the season with 9 wins and 3 losses, and a 0.83 ERA.

The 50th edition of the Japan Men’s Softball League ended in Nagoya City, with the top-five teams in the regular season playing the Final Tournament. Hirabayashi Metal defeated Denso, 4-0, in the final to claim the title, behind a shutout performance by ace Reo Koyama.

The WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup hosting committee has released a promotional video and a volunteer-recruitment campaign for the event through their own website. The tournament will be played in Auckland, New Zealand, from 26 November to 4 December 2022.

Mexico beats Czech Republic, wins international softball tournament in Spain

 

World No. 4 Mexico defeated No. 13 Czech Republic in the final of the Women’s International Softball Tournament, a WBSC-sanctioned event held in Valencia, Spain. The tournament ran from 17-20 November at the local municipal baseball and softball field. Host/No.19 Spain and No. 23 Germany completed the lineup of teams.

USA Softball announces 2022 Men's National Team roster

 

USA Softball has announced its 16-player roster and one replacement athlete for the 2022 USA Softball Men’s National Team. The 2022 roster is set to compete next February in the Americas Qualifier in Paraná, Argentina, a qualifying tournament for the November 2022 WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup in Auckland, New Zealand.

The Women’s Central American Softball Championship wrapped up in Guatemala City with the final between the host team and Panama. Guatemala was crowned champion after a 9-4 win over the Panamanian squad on Sunday, while El Salvador -- the defending champions -- finished in third place.

Rising Japanese softball star Miu Goto hopes to shine at LA28 Olympic Games

 

Japanese left-handed pitcher Miu Goto is the new face of Japanese softball. In July, she joined veteran Yukiko Ueno in a dynamic duo to pitch their nation to a second consecutive Olympic gold medal, winning it all at the Tokyo 2020 Games. "As I look toward 2028, in order for the Japan team to be stronger, I have to raise my game. I want to give it my all."
