Calgary, AB - - Gerry O'Brien has passed
RIP Dad (Gerry O'Brien). It’s with an extremely heavy heart I write all to let you know that our father, grandfather, friend, idol has passed away at 7:25am Calgary time this morning. I really don’t know where to start to explain what he meant to everyone. Everyone will have a Gerry story to tell. I just wanted to say thanks so much for being who you were to push us to be the best, never give up and always take care of family. That’s the most important thing. I know we will meet again someday to catch up and maybe have one more catch for old time sakes. . Love you and sorry I didn’t get a chance to say it more often. Till we meet again
To say the world lost a legend today would be a great understatement!
When God introduced Ger to the world he broke the mold cause the world could only ever have one Gerry O’Brien!
Ger adored his family, friends, the ballpark and found ultimate joy in scoring a deal!
Ger owned the audience in every environment he was ever in, he’d do anything for anyone & was someone you wanted to know!
He oozed kindness, was fearless and loved to stir the shit!
One of those people you imagine will live forever & aren’t really sure how the world will turn without!
I’m gonna miss that mischievous smile, your what’s coming next adventures and all the laughter you brought to our family!
RIP Poppilna, Geraldina, Poppity Pop, The Cod Father, Ger and best known in our home as Pop! Xx
Hug your people!
Thank you for all the lovely messages, memories, smiles, well wishes and love!
We’ve certainly lost a special, one of a kind but the memories, stories & reminiscing is filling this home with laughter & love
The service will be live streamed should anyone wish to be there from afar!
Additionally we will be hosting a
Celebration of Gerry’s Life in Fergus at
The Goofie Newfie for all the hoards of friends he made in town and throughout Ontario.
